PR Student Event Fundraiser
Each year the second year students of the Kwantlen PR Diploma Program work together as a class to organize a fundraising event for a non-profit organization in the Lower Mainland as part of their curriculum. The students learn how to manage the logistics, catering, site preparation, contracts, media relations, etc. for a special event as well as all the aspects of fundraising, such as ticket sales and running a silent auction.
"The Public Relations students worked hard over the two-semester event management course to implement a very successful event,” says Amelia Kennedy, faculty member, Kwantlen’s Public Relations Diploma Program. "They should be very proud."
