Fashion Master Class 2012
The Art of the Cut: Drape a Vionnet Gown
In the 1930s in Paris, France, Madeleine Vionnet revolutionized haute couture by using the natural fluidity in diagonal woven fabric to conform to the body with only a few seams and darts. She represented the epitome of a master "cutter" or pattern designer and pioneered the use of the bias to achieve intricate designs beyond the slip-dress, becoming a geometrician or architect in fabric.
We invite you to join us for this exciting 1-day master class and learn the Vionnet techniques taught by Sandra Ericson from the Centre for Pattern Design in California.
