Music Scholarships

Katherine Cummings Scholarship
With a generous donation in memory of Katherine Cummings, this scholarship has been established to honour a high achieving student in the Music Department each year.  In keeping with her passion for music, it will recognize a student who has demonstrated a high level of performance ability as well as academic achievement and will be pursuing their goal of a professional career in music through enrollment in a music performance diploma in voice, piano, or a bowed string instrument.

Amount: 1 x $4,750 - Faculty recommended award; no formal application required


Kwantlen Polytechnic University Entering Music-Student Award

Awards will be made annually to students who plan to attend Kwantlen's Music Program full time. The successful recipients will show achievement in their chosen area of study and have a career objective in music. Applicants will be recommended based on these criteria and an audition with Kwantlen Music Program's selection committee.

Amount: 5 x $500 - Faculty-recommended award; no formal application required


Kwantlen Polytechnic University Music Department Award

The Kwantlen Polytechnic University Music Department sponsors an award for Music students who have demonstrated program achievement (GPA of at least 3.0 or better) and have a goal of pursuing a career in the field of Music. The Music Department will make the selection of the students. In the event of equally worthy students, the award will be split. The money for this award is raised through performances by the Music Department and is a reflection of the value and appreciation of the public performances.

Amount: 2 x $750 - Faculty-recommended award; no formal application required


Kwantlen Piano Scholarship
The Kwantlen Music Department is pleased to provide a scholarship to a student who has demonstrated outstanding or exceptional achievement in piano. The student will be currently enrolled in the Diploma or Music Foundation Certificate Program, with enrollment specifically in any of the following courses: Piano (first or second level), Major Instrument Concentration-Piano (any level) or Major Instrument Applied-Piano (any level). The recipient will have demonstrated career objectives in the field of Music.

Amount:
$300 - Faculty-recommended award; no formal application required


Lee Lockwood Music Scholarship
Lee Lockwood is pleased to offer a scholarship to a student shows excellent achievement on an orchestral instrument and a GPA of 3.0 or greater.  Preference will be given to a student residing south of the Fraser River (Delta, Surrey, Langley, Abbotsford, Chilliwack).

Amount: 1 x $1,500 - Faculty-recommended award; no formal application required


Terry Athwal Scholarship
Emedia Network Inc. is proud to sponsor a returning music student who excels in performance and shows significant achievement in academic subjects. The student must be in the top 25% of the class.

Amount: 1 x $750 - Faculty-recommended award; no formal application required
