Plumbing

Plumbers have the expertise (knowledge and skills) to install, repair and maintain a variety of piping systems (copper, plastic, etc.), plumbing fixtures that associate with water distribution and waste water disposal. Job tasks will require the knowledge of codes and regulations. Plumbers are employed in many areas of the community – educational and health care facilities, residential and commercial construction businesses, maintenance departments, plumbing contractorsand manufacturing plants.

APPRENTICE TRAINING

Full-time: 6 weeks, Cloverdale campus

Class Hours: 8:00 am - 2:30 pm  (Mon - Fri)

PROGRAM CONTENT

Level 1 Mathematics Tools Science Safety Pipes, Valves, Fittings Rigging Cutting, Soldering and Brazing Drafting and Blueprint Reading

Level 2 Hotwater Heating Systems Piping Drawing and Specifications Rough-in and Finishing Drainage and Venting Systems Compressed Air and Medical Gas Leveling Instruments and Tools

FOUNDATION TRAINING

Full-time:  21 weeks

Class Hours:  8:00 am - 2:30 pm  (Mon - Fri)

Program Content:  Foundation training delivers the same curriculum as the Level 1 apprentice training, over 21 weeks rather than 6 weeks for apprentice.  Once you have successfully completed the Foundation program and have attained the required number of on-the-job training hours (1405), you may apply to the Industry Training Authority (ITA) for your apprentice status. 


ACE IT TRAINING

Currently offered to Surrey School District students at Panorama Ridge Secondary.

Class Hours: 12:00 pm - 5:30 pm  (Mon - Fri)  21 weeks
